If you are getting an unknown error when trying to send email you can try the steps below and check the result:

Open Outlook in safe mode and check if the issue persists.

Hold?Windows key?+?R.
Copy and paste, or type the following command in the?Open?box, and then press Enter:

Outlook /safe

Note: There is space between Outlook and /

If it works fine in safe mode, then the issue might be due to add-ins. In order to disable the add-ins follow the steps given below:

Click on File menu, Options and then Add-ins.
Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-in Add.
Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them.
Click OK.
