Enter the username and password that you use to check your e-mail. This will take you to your personal Web space on the server.

550 Error.

The 550 error is a message from the server stating that the account you have currently logged in as does not have permission to perform the action you are attempting. You may be trying to upload to the wrong directory or trying to delete a file.  Click here for a list of FTP error and return codes.

What is hostname of the server I use?

The hostname is home.connectnc.net. You must know your username and password in order to upload files. Please keep your password a secret.

What is my URL or Web address?

Your web address is http://home.connectnc.net/yourusername
(replace yourusername with YOUR actual username!).

If you have named the initial document index.html or index.htm, you will see your site by typing the URL as specified above. Once your index.html document has been uploaded, your site will automatically appear (within an hour) in the list of subscriber homepages located at http://home.connectnc.net/.

If you do not wish for the site to be visible, do not name your document index.html or index.htm.

Why do I see Forbidden: You don't have permission to access /yourusername/ on this server?

If you see this error message when you type your URL, it means that you have not named your top-level html document index.html or index.htm. It's also possible you used caps when naming your document. INDEX is not the same as index. The system is case-sensitive.
