Legitimate eBay/Paypal email getting identified as spam.
We've had a report from a customer
about some (though not all) of their legitimate eBay/Paypal
email getting identified as spam. We have a new system for
identifying legitimate eBay/Paypal email by checking the email's
header/envelope information to make sure that the originating IP
of the sending server actually belongs to eBay/Paypal. We have
eBay/Paypal's SPF record information (all their IP addresses)
and this is the information we use to verify the legitimacy of
mail from this domain.
It's very important that you report
any false positives you may have to us so that we can find out
what may have changed and make sure we let legitimate email from
this domain be delivered. If you have any eBay/Paypal false
positives, please do the following:
1. create a new email message
2. drag the false positive email
into it and send us this new email
Sending the email to us using this
method will ensure that we get all of the false-positive email's
header information Please send the email to
customercare@connectnc.net

What is
Spam?
Spam is any unsolicited e-mail or
postings. Spam is sent to a large number of newsgroups and
e-mail addresses in an attempt to deliver information to people
who would otherwise choose not to receive it. Filtering out spam
stops most junk mail from ever being placed within your inbox.
If you receive spam, the best thing
you can do is report it to spamcop.net or delete it. Replying to
spam only aids them in adding your e-mail address to more junk
mail databases, it it will bounce back to you after a few days.
Programmers have developed applications that spammers use to
send mail to millions of addresses. Once your e-mail address is
in one of the databases, it will very likely remain there.
Spammers don't even care how much of their mail bounces, because
they use fake e-mail addresses!
Don't buy products from spammers!
